Another Statue

Friday, March 27th, 2009

The neighbor behind us–the one with the Great Dane statue–has added another one; this time it is either a chihuahua or small rabbit. I really don’t know the difference, and Paul couldn’t tell which it was either. But, it’s right by the Great Dane and the hitchin post.

I guess from now on when we got exploring we will stop by and see if another statue has been added. This is really strange. Why would he do this? I don’t know, either. Maybe he just likes looking at them from his window. He might be doing it because he doesn’t have to tie them up (like his real dog), water them, or feed them.

To each his own!

The Statue

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

I know for certain I have never mentioned the neighbor who lives way behind us.

Well, we went exploring today, and I saw what I thought was Hilde standing in his front yard. But, it wasn’t–it was a statue of a black Great Dane. Isn’t that kinda weird? I mean it’s weird because he only has one dog–not a Great Dane–and he keeps him chained up to a post in the ground. (That doesn’t make him an efficient guard dog if you ask me.)

What’s even more weird is that the neighbor has a hitchin post positioned in front of the statue. I can’t imagine why anyone would do that, can you? Mom says that whole family is weird and for me not to worry about it. Still, it makes me wonder.

I know Great Danes are big, but a hitchin post!
