Sam Won

Sunday, December 14th, 2008

He did it!!!!!! I knew he was very good, but now I think he’s totally AWESOME. He had a little trouble with his acceptance speech, but what do you expect? He’s just a kid. and he was very nervous. I would be too if I had just won the Heisman Trophy. Can you imagine? He now joins the ranks of Billy Vessels, Steve Owens, Billy Sims, and Jason White. Gosh, this is so totally unreal. Now, dad will be happy for a very long time, at least until the OU-Florida game on January 8, 2009. If OU wins that one, dad will be happy, happy, happy, which means good things for the rest of us. You should have seen him clapping from his chair last night when Sam’s name was announced as the winner. He was almost as excited as Sam, maybe more so. Dad loves his Sooners so much–maybe as much as he loves mom. Well, not quite. But, I have a new hero–Sam Bradford. He brings so much pleasure to so many people.

Next Day

I am up bright and early to do some spiffing up. I have to be and look my best when I go to work. Last night, mom told me I couldn’t be sarcastic–which is the real me–when working on MY webpages. I looked off into space pretending not to hear her. But, it didn’t work. She said she was going to read MY stuff when I finished. Oh boy, what a dog has to go through just to please humans.
Good grief, I almost forgot what today is. Oh, I know it’s Saturday–not just any Saturday–it’s Heisman Trophy Saturday. Dad is so looking forward to it; he’s sure Sam Bradford from OU (where else?) will win it. I really hope Sam wins if it will make dad happy. Happiness in our family is sometimes trickle-down: Dad’s happy, then mom’s happy, and then the rest of us get to do pretty much what we want to. Sooooooo, everybody’s happy! Makes for peaceful napping (and lots of treats).
