I got my own Valentine’s Day Candy!

Saturday, February 14th, 2009

I guess Valentine’s Day is a good day for humans. From now on, it’s going to be a good day for all of us as well. I’m not sure why it’s celebrated, but now it includes us.

Mom says it’s a day that you show people you love them by giving them a gift of some kind, i.e., candy, flowers, bones. Well, we got new kinds of flavored bones, and they are great. I guess Milk Bones decided to give us furry people a little variety in our lives. Anyway, that’s what Kasha, Wooly, Hilde, and I got for Valentine’s Day. Oh, yeah, we shared them with Misty, Samantha, and Candy. Pretty soon, you will get to see pictures of them.

Dad gave mom a really big box of chocolates, and she shared them with me. I know I’m not supposed to have chocolate, but a little milk chocolate never hurt anyone, especially on special days. Mom also got chocolates from Jason and Richel plus a fuzzy little bear. I found it on mom’s computer table and took it to her; she was really surprised. I wanted to keep it, but mom wouldn’t let me. Oh, well, maybe next year.

They Just Keep Coming!

Monday, January 26th, 2009

Two more were caught this morning. They must been from different families, because they were fighting over the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. They were squealing and trying to bite each other; you should have seen how immature and hostile they were to each other.

The reason I think they were fighting was because they were different from each other. I’m sure how they were different, but they must have been. One was light brown and a little on the skinny side, and the other one was a darker brown and a little on plump side (if you know what I mean).

At any rate, it seems sort of silly to fight over a single piece of food when there were plenty of pieces to go around; but no, they had to fight over this single one. They were making so much noise that mom had Paul take them outside about ten o’clock tonight. He told mom that when he let them go, they started fighting each other on the ground. He left the candy with them. I personally don’t think they should have been rewarded for fighting; I know we’re not.

Candy Escaped

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

What a Tuesday! I was just minding my own business and trying to go to sleep on the couch when all of a sudden someone landed right on my pillow, just barely missing my head. I jumped up, growled my displeasure, bared my teeth, and was fully prepared to attack whoever had invaded my space. Well, it turned out to be Candy, my Border Collie sister, who had rudely interrupted my serene mood. She usually stays with one of my human brothers–Jason. I calmed down pretty quickly when I found it was Candy instead of Wooly. Candy wanted to play; so, I complied. Mom let us outside in the big front yard, and Candy began running around like she had never been out there before; what a dork. Nevertheless, I began chasing her, and she began running really fast; she’s a lot faster and skinnier than I am. I never did catch her, although she almost let me sometimes. After about five minutes of exerting myself to no avail (I was really panting and awful thirsty), I was ready to go back inside and get on my couch. She still wanted to play, but mom stepped in and told both of us to get back in the house; boy, was I glad. Mom took me one way when we got back in, and Candy went the other way to find someone else to bother. I think she must have because she didn’t bother me anymore; besides I wanted to take a nap and did as soon I quit panting.
