Ahhhh, It’s Obsession!

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

Have you ever noticed how humans smell? Some smell real good (like my mom) and some smell real bad (like my neighbor). Do you know why my mom smells so good? Well, I asked–sorta, I smelled her a lot–and she told me. Actually, I saw her spraying something from a bottle behind her ears. Who but humans would do this? I don’t have a behind-the-ears kind of head.

Mom explained that what she was doing was putting on perfume–a certain perfume, to be exact. Calvin Klein’s Obsession is the exact name–to be more exact. She said it made her smell heavenly, whatever that means. She said it is a blend of vanilla, amber, orange blossom, oakmoss and other oriental spices. I guess she knows what she’s saying, because I didn’t quite understand all of it. All I know is that it makes mom smell real good. She said that when she wears it out in public other humans always tell her how good she smells; mom likes that. Mom also told me that dad really, really likes it; I guess that why he buys it for her.

I don’t know where dad buys it, but I’m sure glad he does.

Easy Money Answers!

Have you ever needed money in a hurry?

Well, I have one possible solution for you. This online site makes it easy to apply for a short-term payday loan. The whole process takes about three minutes with just a few requirements, and you can have your answer in about an hour. There is no credit check, so if you have a bad score, it does not make any difference. In fact, they do not even check your credit!

The humans you deal with will not make any judgements, because they are there to help you. They are courteous, polite, and very helpful. So, if you need a short-term payday loan, the place to visit online is Pay Day Loan.

By the way, my mom helped me write this.

Motorcycle Riders Unite!

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

Do you own a motorcycle? If you do, there is an online site made especially for you.

Becoming a member of this site is free, and you won’t regret it. You can post photos, videos, interact socially with like-minded individuals, perhaps even get free parts for your bike. This is a site for humans to share stories with each other, teach younger riders the rules of the road, and maybe learn a few new things yourself; after all, this is an international site. You can see how riders in various countries do things differently–or the same–as you do them. Join right now!!! Go to motorcycle community and post your information.

Mom just read me a story about a beginner who opted not to buy a windshield for his bike. After a couple of hours riding directly into the full force of the wind (it gets breezy when you’re going 70 miles per hour), he decided to buy one. Did I mention that you can buy parts and accessories on this site as well?

Oh yeah, mom helped me write this.

Do You Know What DOT COM (.com) Means?

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

I know a lot of people get confused when others start talking in extensions pertaining to files, websites, etc. “Come on, let’s use the dot-com extension,” says the first one.

“No, let’s use the dot-exe one,” says the second one.

Humans who are not used to tech-talk can really be confused, especially when they don’t know the difference between the dot-com used in programming and the dot-com used in websites. The former refers to a “command” line which is a character string that tells a program to perform a specific action, and the latter refers to “commercial” and tells the user that it is a website which is for general use. And, it can get more complicated when referring to file extensions.

Have you ever had a file on your computer with the extension of dot-jpg? If you have no idea what this might mean, you need to go to the File Extension Library; it has over a 1,000 listings. This site explains that a file extension is the portion of a file name located at the end of a file after the dot. Not only does it explain things in a layman language, it gives suggestions on how to find and open a particular file with a particular extension. You probably do not need to go there immediately, but keep in mind where to go for help with your unknown file extensions. And the place to remember is file extension jad.

I know, if you are like me, you need all the help you can get. By the way, my mom helped me with this.

Another Statue

Friday, March 27th, 2009

The neighbor behind us–the one with the Great Dane statue–has added another one; this time it is either a chihuahua or small rabbit. I really don’t know the difference, and Paul couldn’t tell which it was either. But, it’s right by the Great Dane and the hitchin post.

I guess from now on when we got exploring we will stop by and see if another statue has been added. This is really strange. Why would he do this? I don’t know, either. Maybe he just likes looking at them from his window. He might be doing it because he doesn’t have to tie them up (like his real dog), water them, or feed them.

To each his own!

The Statue

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

I know for certain I have never mentioned the neighbor who lives way behind us.

Well, we went exploring today, and I saw what I thought was Hilde standing in his front yard. But, it wasn’t–it was a statue of a black Great Dane. Isn’t that kinda weird? I mean it’s weird because he only has one dog–not a Great Dane–and he keeps him chained up to a post in the ground. (That doesn’t make him an efficient guard dog if you ask me.)

What’s even more weird is that the neighbor has a hitchin post positioned in front of the statue. I can’t imagine why anyone would do that, can you? Mom says that whole family is weird and for me not to worry about it. Still, it makes me wonder.

I know Great Danes are big, but a hitchin post!

Again–The White Owl

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

Did I ever tell you about the time when the owl got into our game room? I wasn’t here at the time, but mom told me about it.

Dad saw it first. He went into the game room to make sure the sliding glass doors were closed. When he walked in from the hall, he thought he saw a stuffed owl on the mantle above the fireplace. He walked to the sliding door to completely close it, because mom had left it open to air out the room. Then he thought “We don’t have a stuffed anything, much less a white owl.” Then the owl suddenly spread his wings, and dad made a hasty retreat.

He got Jason (human brother), and together they managed to get the owl out the sliding doors (without harming it) back into the wooded area behind our house, or so they thought. When dad got back into the house and closed the doors, he happened to look across the courtyard and saw the owl sitting on the roof; it was looking directly at him. He watched the beautiful creature for a few minutes before returning to the TV room.

I wish I had been there, but it would have too close for me. He might have mistaken me for a very large and plump mouse; that would not have been good.

An Off Day

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

I took today off and didn’t do very much. Although it was very nice outside today, I didn’t feel much like doing anything at all.

I didn’t want to play; all I wanted to do was sleep. As a matter of fact, that’s practically what I did all day–sleep on mom’s bed. I don’t feel bad, and I ate supper as usual, but I still just want to sleep. Mom says that I can’t sleep too much. Humans can do that, but I can’t. I believe her. I sure hope I feel like doing more tomorrow. When I don’t do much (like play, get her slippers and run off, or generally, make a nuisance of myself), mom worries about me. I definitely don’t want to worry her, so I’ll try and be more like myself tomorrow.

Half-way House for Animals

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

Did I ever tell you about my human sister, Sue? She is mom’s sister, too. She lives in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and takes in animals that no one else wants. People–not humans– even drop off the animals in front of her house so she can find them.

Sue has all kinds of furry creatures. Let’s see, she has a pair of Shetland ponies that were going to be put down, but she heard about them and then rescued them. She still has them, and they are very old in pony years. They now live in her barn and each has its own stall with clean hay. She had a German Shepherd named Rain, who had heartworms when she got him. I bet you know why she named him Rain! The people who brought her Rain said they didn’t have the heart to put him down. I guess they didn’t want to watch him die a slow death, but they thought it was all right for Sue to watch him die. Some people have no heart.

Boy, were they fooled. Sue nursed him, and pretty soon, he was walking around in her living room. After a while, Rain even started playing with the other furry ones Aunt Sue keeps in her house. Aunt Sue’s vet told her that she didn’t hold out much hope for Rain, but Sue never gave up. About two months later, Rain was running and playing out in the pasture with the other outside furry ones. But, at night, Rain came in the house and slept at the foot of Sue’s bed. No one ever came in the fenced-in front yard while Rain was on guard duty; which means that no one ever came in the yard at all unless Sue said it was okay. Try as he did, Rain finally succumbed to his fate and died last year.

Sue called mom when it happened and told her about it. Mom cried right along with Sue. She told mom that she had had Rain for six years after those people dropped him off and was blessed because of their cruel act. Sue also has other little creatures, but I will have to tell you about them later.

Mosquitoes–we don’t have any

Saturday, March 21st, 2009

You’ll never guess what mom did today. She put down those granules that keep mosquitoes away from all of us.

Mom buys Dr. T’s Natural Products–The Repellent Company. The granules are made from natural oils and contain absolutely no poison of any kind. Those little grains are safe to use around children and pets–even plants. Anywhere you think mosquitoes are apt to be, and you don’t want them there, just sprinkle some granules. Mom uses them especially around our pool and in the summer time. She also has some little chunks of something that she puts in the pool after we close it for the summer that keeps mosquitoes from breeding in the pool water.

Mom says that mosquitoes carry diseases; I believe her. Truthfully, I really don’t know what mosquitoes look like; I guess it’s because I’ve never seen any. I’m not sure what disease means either, but mom says I don’t have to worry.
